Accompanied by her pianist, Jimmy Powers, she sings and shares stories from her life. As the night wears on and the alcohol takes hold, Billie’s memories unravel, revealing a raw and unforgettable portrait of a legend in her final days. Set in a near-future fascist America where all art is banned—even the words that describe it—five former theatre makers secretly convene to ask: What becomes of a person when their purpose is erased? Staged during election season, The Meeting invites audiences to draw chilling parallels between this dystopian world and our current political climate. The result is an unsettling, urgent call to resist fascist ideologies—and a reminder that even in silence, art and identity endure.
